There are a host of potential tax penalties that may apply to private foundations -- and in some cases, their foundation managers -- making them a promising target for IRS revenue agents. This session will explain how the IRS audit process works, what issues are commonly raised in private foundation audits, and -- most importantly -- what private foundations can and should do now to minimize the disruption and potential risk of adverse consequences if they are later selected for audit. Rochester Effectiveness Partnership: Community Conference For seven years, Rochester Effectiveness Partnership taught and coached area nonprofits and funders. Over 250 individuals were involved in this unique collaboration to study participatory evaluation with professional evaluators and apply their learning to increase the effectiveness of their work. The Partnership completed a final evaluation of the collaboration itself. Guest speakers spoke on capacity-building programs around the U.S. to increase effectiveness.
