Lisa Dahl, Program Director

Grantmakers Forum of New York

As Program Director for the Grantmakers Forum of New York, Lisa Dahl develops and implements member programs, coordinates volunteer committees, and manages events for the leading resource for philanthropy in Upstate New York.

Prior to 2003, Dahl was Executive Coordinator, Cornell University Employment and Careers Institute, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation program, administering the grant and a Fellows program, and overseeing this large study of work/life decision-making of dual-earner couples in Upstate New York. At Cornell, Dahl also worked as Research Coordinator for the International Workplace Studies Program -- an international consortium of Fortune 500 corporations and government agencies, and conducted research on new ways of working and workplace design, traveling extensively nationally and internationally.

Dahl previously served as Administrative Director, Synthesis Coalition -- a national collaboration of eight universities, funded by the National Science Foundation, with goals of increasing the numbers of women and minorities in math and science (K-16) and improving engineering education.

A native of Ithaca, NY, Dahl holds a B.S. in Consumer Economics and Housing from Cornell University. She has resided in New York City and in Texas; owned a NYS dairy farm; counseled farm families through NY FarmNet; and, through her three children, been active with school, church and community leadership.
