New York Council for the Humanities

The New York Council for the Humanities has major grants are available for project requests of $2500 or more (there is no upper limit for these grants, but awards rarely exceed $15,000). These grants may be used for a wide variety of humanities programs at not-for-profit organizations that bring humanities scholars and scholarship to a general public audience. Similar grants for project requests of under $2500 are available through the Council’s mini-grant program, which accepts applications at any time during the year.

For more information about the Council’s grant program and downloadable application forms visit http://www.nyhumanities.org/grants. If you have a project you think might be eligible for either major or mini grant funding, please contact Jane McNamara, Sr. Program Officer at jmcnamara@nyhumanities.org.
