The conduct of funders can set the standard for cooperation among the public, private and nonprofit sectors to improve our communities.

How do your board and staff use their influence and organizational endowment to encourage community improvement?

  • What are the principles that guide your work with the nonprofit sector?
  • Do you hope your organization is a role model for philanthropy in your community?
  • What is the public view of your good works?
  • How do you share your hopes and dreams with other grantmakers and the public?

The Program Committee invites you to address these issues at Building Strong and Ethical Grantmakers , the national Council on Foundations workshop, at the 2005 Annual Conference of the Grantmakers Forum of New York.

Concurrent sessions on Communications, Financial Investment, and Board Training opportunities will be offered.

Meet your colleagues and the new President of the Council on Foundations at the Opening Reception on Thursday evening. Network and learn from other funders about their practice of philanthropy. Participate in discussions on plans of the Grantmakers Forum of New York.
